Why We Turned a Magazine into a Conversation

For as long as the printing press has existed, reading has been a one-sided relationship. You read and the paper stays silent. Don’t get us wrong. We love print – that simple feeling of holding something real. But, there’s no doubt it has an accessibility problem. It is bound by the language it is printed in and the visual ability of the reader.

So we decided to change the rules. In the December issue of Startupper Magazine, we asked ourselves: What if the content didn’t just wait to be read? What if it could speak back?

Introducing Evenly Dialog

We are proud to announce that the December issue of Startupper is fully interactive. By implementing Evenly Dialog, we have turned static pages into living, breathing narrators.

It’s not just a “digital twin” or a PDF on a phone. It is a conversational experience. So how does it work? We didn’t want an app download or a complex setup to get in the way. We wanted it to feel as natural as turning a page.

  1. Scan: Readers scan a QR code on the magazine.

  2. Ask: They ask a question about the magazine, by talking, not typing.

  3. Learn: The magazine answers back, just like a real person would.

Content Without Limits

This technology isn’t just about being “tech-forward.” It is about two fundamental pillars of our mission at Evenly:

  • True Accessibility: For people with visual impairments, the magazine is no longer inaccessible. It becomes a conversation where you decide exactly what you want to hear.

  • A World Without Language Borders: Ideas shouldn’t have languages. With Evenly Dialog, a reader can ask questions in Greek, English, French, or any other language, and the magazine will understand and reply in the same tongue. You ask in the language you think in; you learn in the language you understand.

The future of print is a dialogue. We believe that content should give you space to speak, to question, and to learn, just like a real conversation.
